All Roads Lead to the Inn

There are many picturesque walks to be explored around our pub. What better way to spend a Sunday than go for a walk ending up at the Old Bridge Inn, for a perfectly poured pint and a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings?

With two reservoirs less than half an hour away from the pub, there’s choice in length and the difficulty of your walk.

The Ryburn walk is a scenic 2.5-mile circular route located just west of Ripponden, offering peaceful woodland tracks, open fields, and impressive views across the South Pennine valley. There is a free car park near the reservoir dam wall accessed via Swift Lane. Alternatively, you can park by us and do a loop adding approximately an hour to your journey.

The Baitings Reservoir walk is a scenic, family-friendly outdoor route set in the South Pennines, offering a mix of wide-surfaced reservoir tracks, open moorland and historic landmarks. If you really want to while away the hours, set off from the pub (after a fueling pint), head up and along the tops, drop down to the reservoir, then head back along the river to rest and refuel with a sandwich or Yorkshire Pudding Wrap!
